IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) are one of the main insurgent weapons. They construct devices out of whatever they can find and then place them at strategic locations such as roadways. They will disguise them as just about anything .... a traffic cone, a dog, they will even bury them in the road.

We assumed that these were disarmed and decided to take a couple of pictures. I was trying to pop out the classic Lindy England thumbs up, but did not quite make it in time for the pic.
